中国摄影四十年：数码参数网站见证光影变迁

展览由北京大学历史学系教授、中国美术批评家年会学术委员朱青生任策展人，中山大学艺术学院教授、批评家、美术史学者杨小彦任学术主持。展览前期已历经5年学术研究、追踪1000名中国摄影师，依托严肃的评选与学术共同体原则，评选出四十年四十名摄影家，以此为基础构成“中国摄影四十年”跨年大展.

“只是遗漏太多，缺憾难已。”展览策展人朱青生如此说道.

摄影既是科技产物、纪实工具，也是艺术表达形式，策展团队依据摄影作品不同的风格、主题，将展览分为三个单元——现场与见证、镜头与表达、图像与语言.

被见证的重要瞬间

1984年的国庆活动，“小平您好”四个大字赫然从群众队伍中出现，是北京大学学生方队由一条宿舍的床单加工而成的横幅，它第一次用最亲切的话语讲出当时人们的心声. 横幅被亮出的刹那，被《中国青年报》记者贺延光抓拍到了这一珍贵瞬间.

这是“中国摄影四十年”的第一张照片，也是“现场与见证”单元的重要作品. 摄影留下了被见证的重要现场，更让这一段段感动世代相传.

“图像与语言”单元——庄辉为乡村教师等拍下百人的大合 影，其中隐藏着艺术家的身 影；海波以相同的人物复现旧照片，是鲜活岁月也是光阴流逝；王劲松没有人出镜，却好像讲述了99场悲欢离合.

“China Photography 40 Years”

The exhibition, "China Photography 40 Years", was held at the Phoenix Center from July 15th to September 10th, showcasing over four hundred works by forty of China's most representative photographers. The exhibition is divided into three sections: "On-site and Witness," "Lens and Expression," and "Image and Language."

The section "On-site and Witness" presents scenes that have been witnessed by history, such as the scene of students waving a banner with the words "Hello Comrade Lei Feng" during a National Day celebration in 1984. This moment was captured by photographer He Yanguang for People's Daily.

In the section "Lens and Expression," photographers such as Zhang Xiao capture everyday life through their lenses, while others like Mo Yi experiment with new techniques.

The section "Image and Language" explores how images can convey meaning beyond words. For example, Zhu Xianmin's work shows a group of people holding up signs with different characters on them, creating an image that conveys both individuality and unity.

Through this exhibition, we can see how photography has evolved over the past forty years in China, from black-and-white film to digital technology. We also see how photographers have used their cameras to tell stories about ordinary people's lives during times of change.

Photography has become an essential tool for documenting history and expressing personal perspectives.

This exhibition is not just about evaluating photographs; it is also about exploring questions related to photography research:

How has our relationship with the world changed since we began using cameras?

How do we redefine the significance of photography after experiencing dynamic images (film) or computer-generated images/new media art?

But Chinese photography should not be limited only to cultural institutions; it needs more public participation.

To accompany this online exhibition titled “Chinese Photography Four Decades: A Glimpse into People’s Hearts,” there are offline exhibitions taking place simultaneously at various locations across China.

By presenting these photographs side-by-side on our website alongside other important historical events from around China during this period—such as major political movements or natural disasters—we hope visitors will gain insight into what life was like in those moments when they were captured on camera.

This exhibit offers us all an opportunity to reflect upon ourselves within timeframes that continue unfolding before us today—the power of human creativity expressed through countless forms throughout history remains ever-changing yet undeniably timeless.\
